Mission Viejo, Orange County
The twin summits of Saddleback, Santiago Peak and Modjeska Peak, fill the eastern horizon above Mission Viejo. The city has an unusual sporting record. Its Nadadores swim and dive club trained a string of Olympic medalists in the 1970s and 1980s, and the cycling road races of the 1984 Olympic Games were run on its streets.
